Privacy, cookies and browser storage

The site does not ask visitors to create an account, submit personal information or make a payment. EO Explained uses Google Analytics to measure visits and page use, and includes Google AdSense advertising technology. Google may process device, browser and usage information for analytics and to provide, measure and protect advertising.
What is stored on your device
Two site preferences use your browser’s local storage:
- Saved orders: choosing “Save” stores the order’s internal archive identifier so it can appear in your saved-orders view on that browser.
- Color theme: choosing light or dark mode stores that preference so the site can reuse it on that browser.
These two preferences stay on the device and are not sent to EO Explained. They are not cookies, do not expire automatically and can be removed with the site controls or by clearing this site’s stored data in the browser.
Cookies and consent
Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies to serve and measure advertising. Google advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on a visitor’s use of this site or other sites. For visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland, Google consent mode defaults advertising and analytics storage, ad user data and ad personalisation to denied before Google tags load. A Google-certified European regulations message is published for this site in AdSense. Its account-wide advertising consent-mode setting is enabled, so the message can update advertising consent signals after a visitor makes a choice. The separate analytics consent-mode setting remains off; analytics storage therefore stays at the regional denied default in this setup. The technical defaults alone do not prove that the message appears on every eligible visit.
You can review how Google uses information from sites that use its services in Google’s partner-sites privacy information. The hosting and security provider may also process ordinary request information needed to deliver and protect the site, including an IP address, browser information, requested page and timestamp.
Analytics
Google Analytics is installed with measurement ID G-CC96Q3J5B0. It records page visits and related usage information so the site operator can understand how the site is used. Google may set or read analytics cookies and process the information described above. Analytics data is separate from the saved-order and color-theme preferences stored only on your device.
Advertising
Google AdSense integration is installed. Whether advertisements appear depends on Google approval, the site’s AdSense settings, regional consent choices and ad availability. Visitors can control personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings (opens in a new tab). The consent message identifies the advertising providers available for the visitor’s region and provides the applicable privacy choices. Advertising must not influence order selection, editorial states, status wording or sources.
External links and sharing
Following a government, court or other external source link takes you to a site with its own privacy and accessibility practices. The copy-link control uses the browser clipboard, native sharing opens the device share sheet where supported, and the email link opens the visitor’s email application; EO Explained does not receive the shared content.
Contact data
The site currently has no public submission form and therefore does not collect contact details through a form. Visitors who email the published webmaster address provide their email address and message for the purpose of receiving and responding to that correspondence.
