The six modern term collections begin with Bill Clinton’s 1993 executive orders and continue through the current second-term Trump collection. Fourteen earlier president profiles and curated historic-order guides extend the historical context before 1993. Research-level labels distinguish verified official-record indexing from order-specific implementation and legal review.
The archive groups guides by president and signing year to make historical changes easier to follow. A collection page lists the orders that EO Explained has researched and links to year-level indexes and individual guides. The date range describes the presidential term covered by the collection; it does not mean that every order from that administration is represented. The order number, official title, and Federal Register record help identify a guide precisely.
The modern term collections include five presidents: Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Donald J. Trump. Trump’s first-term guides are grouped separately from his second-term orders so readers can track actions across the 2021–2025 change in administrations. The archive also supports searching across presidents, topics, years, and statuses.
Presidential collections are not rankings. Differences in the number of guides or the length of an administration reflect the archive’s scope and the availability of source-supported pages, not the importance or legal force of an order. To understand one order’s current position, open its individual guide and review the source list, status date, later changes, and cited court or agency records.
