Factual version history

History begins September 11, 2026

This public history records changes that materially alter an executive-order guide’s facts, status explanation, dates, sources or account of later events. It does not treat spelling, layout, navigation or other meaning-preserving maintenance as a factual version.

Material factual changes are recorded and linked below.

The material correction log records source-led factual changes made since the public baseline began on September 11, 2026.

Source-led status update

EO 13787 succession status corrected

The guide now states that EO 14136 expressly revoked and replaced EO 13787 on January 3, 2025, and links the replacement order.

What every future entry will show

  • The affected guide and publication date
  • The earlier factual wording or position
  • The revised wording or position and why it changed
  • The primary or authoritative evidence supporting the revision
  • Whether the change is a correction or a source-led update after a later event

Related records remain separate

Corrections and editorial changes records substantive errors separately from presentation and research-method improvements. Archive updates shows research coverage and review activity; a review date alone does not mean that a page’s factual position changed.

Public baseline

Version-history policy established

EO Explained began this prospective public history with no material factual corrections recorded. Future qualifying changes will be added here without replacing or silently rewriting earlier entries.

What the history records

This page focuses on changes that can alter a reader’s understanding of an order: corrections to dates or legal status, new amendments or revocations, significant court rulings, newly verified implementation records, and material changes to cited evidence. It does not list every spelling, layout, navigation, accessibility, or software maintenance change. Those routine improvements do not normally change the factual account of an order.

A history entry identifies the affected guide and summarizes the reason for the revision. Use its link to read the current explanation, then compare the named record with the date shown on the order page. The order page’s source list remains the working evidence record; the history gives an overview of material changes rather than reproducing every research note.

If you believe a guide contains a factual error, send the specific sentence, page address, and supporting source through the corrections page. We review claims against primary records where available, explain uncertainty, and record material factual changes here. A request is not a guarantee that the wording will change; accuracy and evidence determine the result.
