Executive Order 13576: Delivering an Efficient, Effective, and Accountable Government

President: Barack Obama

Status: Completed/expired. Is Executive Order 13576 still in effect? No. Executive Order 13576 is completed or expired. See Federal Register record.

What does Executive Order 13576 do?

EO 13576 reinforced agency performance management, launched the Campaign to Cut Waste and created the Government Accountability and Transparency Board. The board had a six-month reporting assignment and used existing resources to recommend common spending data and fraud-detection practices. Its work informed later data-transparency reforms, but the original campaign and board are no longer operating as current programs.

Administration position: The order coordinated management reforms; it did not cancel appropriations or independently determine that particular spending was fraudulent.
