Executive Order 12855: Amending Executive Order No. 12852
President: Bill Clinton
Moved administrative support for the President’s Council on Sustainable Development to the Interior Department; EO 13138 later revoked the council’s order as completed.
Status: Revoked. Is Executive Order 12855 still in effect? No. Executive Order 12855 was revoked. See Executive Order 13138: Continuance of Certain Federal Advisory Committees, Federal Register record.
What does Executive Order 12855 do?
EO 12855 changed the support arrangements for the President’s Council on Sustainable Development, assigning reimbursable administrative services to the Interior Department under EO 12852. The council’s archived 1993 charter identifies Interior’s Take Pride in America program as its initial support channel and describes the council’s advisory role. EO 13138 later revoked the council order as amended after its work was completed.
Before and after
Before the order

Legal and source detail
How it works legally
EO 12855 had no separate program beyond its amendment to EO 12852. EO 13138 expressly revoked the underlying order as amended, so the support assignment no longer operates.
