What does Executive Order 13057 do?

EO 13057 followed a Lake Tahoe forum by directing a federal interagency partnership, coordinated budgets, scientific monitoring, restoration projects and support for the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. It stressed implementation through existing authorities and resources and respected the California–Nevada compact. The order has not been expressly revoked, although later legislation and regional plans now structure much of the work.

Administration position: The order coordinated federal programs; it did not create new land-use jurisdiction or override state, tribal, compact or private-property law.
