Executive Order 13102: Further Amendment to Executive Order 13038, Advisory Committee on Public Interest Obligations of Digital Television Broadcasters

President: Bill Clinton

Moved the digital-television public-interest advisory committee’s final reporting deadline to December 31, 1998.

Status: Completed/expired. Is Executive Order 13102 still in effect? No. Executive Order 13102 is completed or expired. See Federal Register record.

What does Executive Order 13102 do?

EO 13102 made one change to EO 13038 as previously amended: it replaced the committee’s October 1, 1998 reporting deadline with December 31, 1998. The committee transmitted its final report on December 18, covering broadcasting policy, children’s programming, accessibility and related issues. EO 13138 later revoked EO 13038 and its amendments after the committee’s work was complete, nullifying EO 13102.

Administration position: The order extended a reporting deadline only; it did not impose broadcasting rules.
