President: Bill Clinton

Expanded the White House complementary and alternative medicine commission from 15 to 20 members.

Status: Completed/expired. Is Executive Order 13167 still in effect? No. Executive Order 13167 is completed or expired. See Federal Register record.

What does Executive Order 13167 do?

EO 13167 made one change to EO 13147: it increased the maximum membership of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy from 15 to 20. The commission delivered its final report in March 2002. EO 13316 then revoked EO 13147 as amended because the commission had terminated or completed its work.

Later evidence reviewed September 23, 2026: EO 13316 revoked EO 13147 as amended. GovInfo — EO 13316. This later record documents the stated step; it does not by itself establish every downstream agency action or legal outcome.

Administration position: The amendment changed the commission’s size; it did not approve any therapy, alter medical licensing or make commission recommendations binding.
