Executive Order 13731: Global Entrepreneurship
President: Barack Obama
Established government-wide coordination for entrepreneurship programs, investment, exchanges and overseas commercial engagement.
Status: In effect. Is Executive Order 13731 still in effect? Yes. Executive Order 13731 remains an unrevoked entrepreneurship-coordination framework: its signed text contains no termination date, and the Federal Register disposition table identifies no revocation. That formal status does not establish that its original office, advisory arrangements, or summit program currently operate unchanged. What does Executive Order 13731 do?
EO 13731 made support for entrepreneurs part of US foreign and economic policy. It created a Global Entrepreneurship Coordinating Committee chaired by the State Department and directed agencies to align programs involving finance, exchanges, training, ecosystems and commercial links. The order remains unrevoked, but its Obama-era summit cycle and organizational arrangements changed; agencies now pursue entrepreneurship through their current programs and priorities.
