Status: In effect. Is Executive Order 13825 still in effect? Yes. Executive Order 13825 remains in effect. See Federal Register record.
What does Executive Order 13825 do?
EO 13825 amended Parts II through IV of the Manual for Courts-Martial through attached annexes and specified when changes under the Military Justice Act of 2016 would take effect, generally January 1, 2019. Its transition provisions protected earlier conduct and proceedings from retroactive punishment or higher maximum sentences. The annexes are part of the official text and must be consulted for a particular rule. Later manuals and amendments require separate checking for current military practice.
