Executive Order 13872: Economic Empowerment of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders
President: Donald J. Trump
Created a Commerce-based advisory commission and interagency initiative to expand economic opportunities for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
Status: Superseded. Is Executive Order 13872 still in effect? No. Executive Order 13872 was superseded. See Federal Register record.
What does Executive Order 13872 do?
EO 13872 established a presidential advisory commission within Commerce and an interagency White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, co-chaired by Commerce and Transportation. The commission was to advise on access to economic resources, entrepreneurship and related barriers; the initiative was to coordinate agency work and engage communities. The order expressly superseded EO 13515 and a provision continuing its former advisory committee, while preserving agencies' existing statutory responsibilities.
Evidence review, September 23, 2026: The Federal Register index records the later relationship: Superseded by EO 14031. The linked successor text should be read for the exact scope.
