What does Executive Order 13041 do?

EO 13041 amended the temporary President’s Commission on Critical Infrastructure Protection created by EO 13010. It added the Director of the National Economic Council and the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy to the Principals Committee and extended the commission for 90 days. The commission delivered Critical Foundations in October 1997; EO 13138 later abolished the advisory provisions.

Administration position: The amendment changed oversight and timing for an advisory commission; it did not impose security standards on private infrastructure owners.
