What does Executive Order 13113 do?

EO 13113 further amended EO 13035, which established the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee. It updated the founding order’s reference to the 1998 Next Generation Internet Research Act, told PITAC to carry out responsibilities under that law, and moved its sunset to February 11, 2001. PITAC later produced reports and received further extensions. In 2005, EO 13385 assigned its role and responsibilities to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. This amendment did not itself fund a research project.

Administration position: The order extended and updated an advisory committee; later orders changed its lifetime and institutional home.
