Executive Order 13114: Further Amendment to Executive Order 12852, as Amended, Extending the President's Council on Sustainable Development

President: Bill Clinton

Moved the planned sunset of the President’s Council on Sustainable Development from February to June 1999.

Status: Completed/expired. Is Executive Order 13114 still in effect? No. Executive Order 13114 is completed or expired. See Federal Register record.

What does Executive Order 13114 do?

EO 13114 made a single date change to EO 12852: the President’s Council on Sustainable Development would run to June 30, 1999 instead of February 28, 1999. It did not itself adopt the council’s recommendations or create a new regulatory program. The Office of the Federal Register notes that EO 13138 abolished the council on September 30, 1999, so this extension is historical rather than a continuing authorization.

Administration position: A sunset-date extension kept the advisory council available temporarily; it did not enact its recommendations.
