What does Executive Order 13569 do?
EO 13569 was a six-part housekeeping order. It broadened eligibility for the Transportation Distinguished Service Medal, updated National Economic and Domestic Policy Council membership, corrected an HBCU regulatory citation, reestablished the faith-based advisory council for two years and revoked the White House Office of Health Reform order. The textual amendments took effect, while later orders repeatedly changed the affected councils and initiatives.
Later evidence reviewed September 23, 2026: EO 13640 extended the faith-based council for two more years. Federal Register — EO 13640. This later record documents the stated step; it does not by itself establish every downstream agency action or legal outcome.
Before and after
Before the order
Older orders named a discontinued climate post, used a mistaken HBCU citation and placed narrower wording on medal eligibility.
After the order
The texts were corrected, the faith-based council received a new term and health-reform coordination moved out of the EO 13507 office.

Legal and source detail
How it works legally
Each amendment operates within its parent order and applicable statutes. Revoking EO 13507 ended that office directive but did not repeal the Affordable Care Act or other health statutes.
