Executive Order 13767: Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements

President: Donald J. Trump

Directed border barrier planning, detention capacity, additional agents and immigration enforcement reporting; revoked in 2021.

Status: Revoked — by EO 14010 on February 2, 2021.

Is Executive Order 13767 still in effect? No. EO 14010 revoked it in 2021.

What does Executive Order 13767 do?

EO 13767 directed Homeland Security to plan a physical barrier along the southern border, seek more detention capacity and Border Patrol agents, use specified immigration authorities, and report apprehension data. Those directions were subject to law and appropriations, and did not themselves provide construction funds. EO 14010 expressly revoked EO 13767 in 2021. EO 14148 and EO 14159 revoked EO 14010 in 2025, but neither expressly reinstated EO 13767; later border policy rests on separate actions.

Administration position: The order stated the administration’s border-enforcement policy. Specific construction, detention and removal actions depended on statutory authority, funding and agency decisions.
