Executive Order 13683: Amendments to Executive Orders 11030, 13653, and 13673
President: Barack Obama
Revised presidential proclamation procedures, a climate council’s membership and one contractor-law citation.
Status: Revoked. Is Executive Order 13683 still in effect? No. Executive Order 13683 was revoked. See Federal Register record.
What does Executive Order 13683 do?
EO 13683 made three distinct amendments. It changed EO 11030 so OMB could assign commemorative proclamations to agencies and USTR would prepare trade proclamations for Attorney General review. It adjusted OMB membership and working-group arrangements for the climate preparedness council under EO 13653. It also corrected the citation to the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Acts in the contractor order EO 13673. EO 13782 expressly revoked section 3 in 2017, and EO 13783 revoked the climate order. The EO 11030 procedural changes were not part of those revocations.
Before and after
Before the order
EO 11030 used earlier proclamation procedures; the climate council and contractor order had wording that this order adjusted.
