Executive Order 13748: Establishing a Community Solutions Council
President: Barack Obama
Created a cabinet-level council to coordinate federal investments and technical assistance around locally led community priorities.
Status: In effect. Is Executive Order 13748 still in effect? Yes. Executive Order 13748 remains an unrevoked order establishing the Community Solutions Council: the signed text has no termination date, and the Federal Register disposition table identifies no revocation. The order's formal survival does not establish that the council currently meets or conducts its original program. What does Executive Order 13748 do?
EO 13748 established a Community Solutions Council to coordinate federal work with local and tribal communities and expressly revoked EOs 13560 and 13602, which had created earlier councils. White House records describe its intended place-based coordination. The order contains no sunset, but the official sources checked for this review do not document a current meeting schedule or active council membership; those should not be inferred from the order alone.
Before and after
Before the order
A task force and separate councils coordinated place-based and community work.
After the order
One cabinet-level body consolidated the stated coordination mission, but did not persist visibly across administrations.
